Elemental Records and Universal Music (UMG) present this special edition of 180g vinyl. Comprising the legendary vibrator Roy Ayers for the soundtrack to the classic film of blaxploitation starring Pam Grier, Coffy (1973), he was a hit on the jazz lists. Music, an interesting blend of heavy funk and soul jazz, with outstanding vocal units by Dee Dee Bridgewater, has perfectly captured Grier's righteous role in the film. Years later, director Quentin Tarantino, who often belongs to Coffy among his favorite films, hired Grier to his special tribute to the genre in the film Jackie Brown (1997).
