Jorge Ben ‎– Fôrça Bruta (LP Black Vinyl)

Released in 1970, Força Bruta captures Jorge Ben at a turning point in Brazilian music. Emerging after the rise of Tropicália, the album bridges samba tradition with soul, funk, and Afro-Brazilian rhythms, helping shape the sound of the 1970s MPB scene. Stripped-down arrangements and strong grooves marked a move away from orchestration toward rhythm- and guitar-led compositions. Força Bruta stands as a key document of Brazil’s urban musical evolution and Jorge Ben’s growing influence. In 2007, Rolling Stone Brasil named it among its 100 greatest Brazilian albums of all time.
